General QUESTIONS

Metallic Epoxy mainly comprises two key components: a clear epoxy base and metallic pigment powder (or mica nanoparticles). These components mix to form a homogeneous blend, producing a glossy, exotic-looking lava-flow or pearlescent effect after installation.

Pour over the flooring, substrate, or solid surface. The metallic pigments move through the Epoxy as it cures. They can be agitated with a paintbrush or roller to create effects such as swirls, ripples, craters, or waves. When the Epoxy hardens, these pigments are locked in place, resulting in a beautiful, three-dimensional look. Each metallic epoxy finish is unique due to the fluid nature of the metallic pigment suspension.

For more information on what our Metallic Epoxy products can create, refer to our Portfolio.

Yes! Simply follow the instructions in our Tutorial provided at absolutely no cost.

There are currently 4 options available;

1) Gloss (Default Finish)
*This finishing provides adequate protection against scratches and impact while showcasing the colors and effects of the design well. The smooth surface allows for effortless cleaning and maintenance. It is recommended for residential usage.

2) Gloss Anti-Slip (Top Coat added with Anti-Slip Agents)
*Like gloss, it offers more traction and higher scratch resistance capabilities. It is recommended for both uses in residential and commercial spaces without compromising its ability to showcase the design’s colors and effects.

3) Matte (Top Coat added with Matte Agents)
*Provides excellent protection due to its thick and gritty characteristics. It is recommended for residential and commercial use due to its robust and durable nature.

4) Matte Anti-Slip (Top Coat added with Anti-Slip & Matte Agents)
*Similar to matte, it offers the highest traction and scratch resistance capabilities. It is highly recommended for extremely high foot traffic or wet environments.

No. They are currently designed for indoor projects.

Yes, it can be done. It will have to be applied and installed as individual panels separately. For more information on how it’s done, check out our Panel Tutorial.

For installation on doors, you can simply remove them and lay them horizontally to be installed as per our Countertop Tutorial.
*Note that the door surface has to be flat for an optimal result.

Yes, Metallic Epoxy can be applied directly to smaller vertical surfaces to a certain extent.

Countertops with vertical surfaces can only be done in basic or single-tone colors. However, complex color and design combinations will not turn out as well as when applied and installed on a horizontal surface.

For better visualization, you may check out our past countertop projects here.

No. Metallic Epoxy surfaces are not scratch-proof. There is no scratch-proof material in the world. Our topcoat finishing is scratch resistant, with the level of resistance depending on which finishing you choose (More information listed under general questions point 4).

The projects made with our products provide a higher impact resistance level than most conventional interior surfacing materials!

Yes! Metallic Epoxy is non-porous and waterproof. The seamless finish allows for your surface to be stain-proof as well! Say goodbye to stains, mould and mildew!

Our Metallic Epoxy is heat-resistant up to 200°C.

Our Metallic Epoxy is chemically inert, enabling it to be chemical proof to household or commercially used items.

The traction of our popular gloss finish is similar to marble or porcelain tiled floors. However, we also have various other protective topcoat options (Listed above).

For areas frequently exposed to water, such as bathrooms, we recommend using our Matte Anti-Slip option, which can prevent slipping even with soap and water.

Yes, we do! Arrangements can be made for our nearest Franchisee within your territory to get the installation done or for us to fly down.

Technical QUESTIONS

1st Step: Determine your type of project (Floors, Countertops, or Panels).

2nd Step: Get the size of your project in square meters (sqm) and input it within your type of project in our Calculator

3rd Step: After inputting the information, press the “enter” button on your keyboard or click somewhere within your screen for the information to be generated.

*Note to always cater 20-30% extra on top of the recommended quantity during your purchase in the event of an unforeseen circumstance during installation.

Floors: All types of concrete surfaces, natural stone, and tiles.

Countertops: All types of concrete surfaces, natural stone, wood, and hard tops.

Panels: All types of aluminum panels, Composite Panels, drywall, and wood.

*Note to ensure all surfaces are as flat as possible and prepped before installation.

Simply follow the instructions in our Tutorial provided at absolutely no cost.

This depends on the gap or allowance from the lowest point of the door to the floor. If the gap is smaller than 8mm, a slight modification is necessary for your door. Lack of allowance requires the cutting of doors.

Basing on the amount of products required for a project in our Calculator.

– General Flooring: 5mm to 8mm
– Bathroom Flooring: 15mm – 20mm
– Countertops and Vanity Tops: 3mm
– Walls & Doors: 3mm

This is excluding the thickness of the original substrate.

These streaks are a natural occurrence, and it’s the uniqueness of every Metallic Epoxy installation.

A little info about this effect;
1) The design layer is made up of clear Metallic Epoxy resin with Metallic Pigments (Otherwise also known as fine colored powders)

2) During the curing process, Metallic Epoxy continues to flow for the next 6 hours before setting and locking it in the final outlook.

3) While the flowing/curing period is taking place. Some pigments are heavier than the rest. They then sink within the design layer and do not move with the flow. In turn, this causes the rest of the Metallic Pigments blended within the Metallic Epoxy resin to flow around these heavier pigments resulting in this natural and unique effect. (Eg. The river flowing around a rock)

The lines are from the application of the matte or anti-slip topcoat application. The grit and texture of the matte or anti-slip coat finish may leave some lines on the floor which will disappear over time.

The tiny bumps are dust particles that become trapped in the surface of the topcoat as it cures and hardens. It is necessary to keep the environment clean for installation. Getting rid of all dust particles in the area is almost impossible. Not to worry, these tiny bumps will disappear over time.

No. We strongly advise against you entering the work area after completing the project (For at least 12 hours). It ensures that the epoxy and topcoat layers cure and harden completely. The objective is to keep dust, foreign objects, hair, and accidental touches from the wet layers.

We strive to establish a “cleanroom” for every project. This is to minimize and eradicate dust and foreign particles from the work environment which may tarnish the finished product and design.

Airflow confuses dust and foreign particles, which become embedded in the epoxy or topcoat layer, resulting in minor bumps and mini-craters in the finished design.

Strip off the remaining topcoat layer and reapply a fresh new layer, making it as good as new.

As answered previously, the topcoat can be re-applied*, either on the damaged area alone or stripping the whole layer and reapplying a new coat again. We would recommend re-applying a whole new layer, as individual topcoat application only on the damaged area would result in patches on your surface which might be un-slightly to some.

Simply overlay a whole new design of your choice over the existing one! Before overlaying the new design, be sure to strip off your existing top coat.

However, note that it will further increase the thickness of your existing surfaces by 2mm to 3mm.
